National Council for Geographic Education

Founded in 1915 by George J. Miller, a geography teacher educator at the State Normal School in Mankato, Minnesota, the National Council for Geographic Education  (NCGE) was founded to bridge the gap between the subject expertise of college professors and the pedagogical training and insights of K-12 teachers. With members in all the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 86 foreign countries, NCGE membership represents K-12 classroom teachers, college and university faculty members, school administrators, curriculum designers, education specialists, and geographers.

An NCGE Membership is not just a great investment in your personal professional development, but your membership also supports our efforts to promote and enhance geographic teaching and learning. Join the dedicated geography education community by becoming a member today.
