The New Mexico Geographic Alliance seeks to improve and increase the knowledge of geography within New Mexico; use geography and social studies standards as the basis for teaching geography; enhance teachers’ ability to teach geography in ways that excite and interest students in geographic knowledge; and develop curriculum materials related to the geography of New Mexico, the nation, and the world.
