Come explore how arts-integration and methodologies can be used in the geography classroom! From classroom quilts, place-based drawings, mental maps, and other mediums are all ways in which students can show their understanding of geographic concepts while also practicing and exhibiting their geographic skills. Explore practical ways in which students can integrate art into their teaching practices, aligned with geography standards and skills.

Meet the Presenter

Jessica Flaich is a former APHG teacher, now-turned graduate student at the University of South Carolina, where she works with the South Carolina Geographic Alliance in providing engaging and relevant professional development to SC K-12 geography teachers. In her free time, Jessica enjoys a slew of textile art related hobbies and is current working on an embroidered quilt map
