This is the second of three pre-trip webinars for the GeoCamp Iceland 2021 participants.

Rebecca L. Dodge describes how processes and patterns in the natural environment of Iceland have influenced earth systems, and how the systems have interacted to produce the unique geologic, hydrologic and climatic geography of Iceland. Living on the edges of two tectonic plates have given Iceland a dramatic mix of volcanoes, earthquakes, and glaciers, which have influenced Icelandic society to turn natural disasters into sources of energy, as well as attractions for scientists, tourists, and educators.

Host:  Dr. Rebecca Dodge, Emeritus and Adjunct Associate Professor, Midwestern State University Geosciences Program
