DESCRIPTION:NCGE Oregon Alliance Presents:  \nApplied Linguistics is the study of language to address real-world problems. As a broad field that touches many aspects of human interaction\, applied linguistics includes subjects such as how language works in the brain\, interactions between language and culture\, and teaching English as a second language (TESL). The field has many close ties to social sciences\, foreign language studies\, and English language arts. As a result\, students often major in Applied Linguistics with a minor in one of those related areas or vice versa. \nThursday\, July 9th\, 2020\n1-2 pm \nThis is a virtual information session\, please RSVP to linginfo@pdx.edu to receive the Zoom link.
