SUMMARY:2020 Summer Institute
DESCRIPTION:North Dakota Geographic Alliance Presents:\n“NDGA Summer Institute 2020 – GEOGRAPHIC INQUIRY” \nThis active learning course is for teachers of geography or those teaching courses with geographic content at any grade level. The 3-day program will focus on helping teachers collect data about the 5 themes of geography followed by using this data to create active learning opportunities participants can use in their classrooms.  The institute will have an emphasis on field trips and outdoors activities. It will also include hands-on instruction in data collection methods\, including a session on how to get started collecting and integrating Geo-Inquiry into classroom lessons. Another area covered will be the new and easy-to-use GIS tools available to enhance learning in social science courses. Participants will also expand their network of colleagues who are valuable resources in the profession of education. MSU door lodging and some meals will be provided.
