Teaching with GIS, Even During a Pandemic – PART I

Making maps and conducting spatial analysis with ArcGIS Online

Thursday, Feb 25, 2021

This session will introduce participants to ArcGIS Online, a web-based geographic information system that is free for use by K12 teachers and their students. For the past five years, our team of teachers and university faculty has been using ArcGIS and its related tools to teach high school social studies and science. During the pandemic, we have successfully shifted our instruction online. Learn how to use ArcGIS and explore how you might bring it into your classroom.

A follow-up session will demonstrate data collection tools for bringing student-collected information into your classroom.Speakers:  Dr. Tom Hammond, Lehigh University; Dr. Kate Popejoy, Researcher, science education and technology; Doug Leeson, Lehigh University;Dr. Alec M.
