This hands-on, 45-minute session will provide multiple activities to help teachers encourage students to engage with academic texts as well as fiction and creative nonfiction as a means of refining geographic concepts and skills. Foster<\/strong> is a professor of teacher education, secondary program coordinator, and executive director of the Mississippi Geographic Alliance at the University of Mississippi; a past president of NCGE; and GeoCamp Iceland four-time leader and 2023 alumni trip organizer.
