The Arkansas Geographic Alliance (AGA), though no longer a funded member of the state alliance network, continues to support geographic literacy and skills throughout Arkansas. When it was in full operation, the Alliance provided educators with professional development, networking, model programs, and teaching materials. It also promoted public awareness of the importance of geographic literacy and skills throughout Arkansas. Many teachers and Alliance members are still enthusiastic supporters of the AGA’s mission urging a strong geography education for K-12 students, both in and out of the classroom. The AGA leadership team continues to help connect teachers with resources they may need for teaching geography.
