There are four open board seats open for nomination with service beginning January 1, 2026:
- President Elect
- Three Board of Directors
Eligibility:
To serve on the NCGE Board of Directors, a candidate must have been a member for at least three years and currently have an active membership.
Please note: Self nominations are eligible.
President-Elect Responsibilities
This person will serve a three-year term on the NCGE Board of Directors; serving as president-elect in 2026, president in 2027, and past-president in 2028.
The President is responsible for the leadership of the Board of Directors including presiding at all Board meetings and the General Assembly. The president works closely with the executive director and other officers in ensuring the organization is financially sound and setting priorities of NCGE for the calendar year. The president promotes recognition of geography, geographic education and the interests of the Board in forums where significant decisions affecting the primary interests of NCGE may be made.
Board of Director Responsibilities
This person will serve a three-year term on the NCGE Board of Directors. Directors attend virtual board meetings once a month to discuss and vote on significant decisions affecting the primary interests of NCGE and its members. Directors may chair committees and/or other initiatives of NCGE.

- Once the form has been submitted, NCGE will contact the candidate for their official acceptance of the nomination.
- If the candidate accepts the nomination, he/she will be required to submit CV/resume and a statement letter describing their experience and involvement with NCGE, and why they would like to serve on the board.
