A Place to Connect. Share. Grow.
WELCOME TO GeoCircles! An engaging free monthly virtual discussion series brought to you by the National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE). Designed exclusively for geography educators, GeoCircles offer a unique platform to explore various topics in geography education, address concerns, and exchange ideas in a collaborative environment.
What is It?
A GeoCircle is not your typical webinar. It’s an informal, organic discussion facilitated by geography educators, for geography educators. Each session focuses on participant-driven conversations where you can share your insights, seek advice, and discuss the latest trends in geography education without the constraints of formal presentations.
Why Participate?
- Organic Discussions: Enjoy unscripted and open-ended discussions that foster deeper understanding and community engagement.
- Resource Sharing: Although facilitators won’t collect resources, participants are encouraged to share helpful materials with the NCGE community.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow educators, exchange ideas, and build lasting professional relationships.
How It Works
- Monthly Sessions: GeoCircles take place on the third Tuesday of each month. Pick a month that suits you, choose a topic of your interest, or sign up to lead a conversation!
- Topic-Focused and Facilitator-Led: Each monthly GeoCircle session is an organic discussion that is facilitated by a geography educator to ensure productive and focused conversations on the designated topic. While discussions are organic and evolve based on participant input, the expert’s guidance helps delve deeper into the subject matter, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and insights.
- Zoom Platform: To participate in a GeoCircle discussion via Zoom, simply click the “Join via Zoom” button found on the right-hand side of the NCGE GeoCircles webpage.
