Embark on a GIS journey by Investigating YOUR Local Landscape

October 19, 2024 @ 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM MST

Overview

What’s it like here? If you are curious about utilizing dynamic maps to activate student spatial thinking skills, join us to learn about one pathway to engage learners with their local landscape. Walk through an investigation created by a 7th grade teacher and a GeoMentor that utilizes the new MapMaker application to empower students to use critical spatial thinking skills while exploring their community. This activity is envisioned as step one on a scaffolded introduction to using GIS in a Geography classroom.
