In this lesson demonstration, we will (1) explore the origins of selected food crops using a free interactive online map, (2) investigate which countries are the largest producers of these food crops today, and (2) consider the spatial relationship between food origins and today’s largest producers. We will then discuss how variations of this lesson plan can be used in world history and geography classes and adapted to different grade levels.
